Writing Tutors Help a Lot

Writing Tutors Help a LotThere are a lot of benefits to hiring a writing tutor at a local college or university. First, you can do it yourself - and you won't have to worry about them trying to sell you on something you don't really need. And second, you can get one-on-one tutoring that will make you a better writer in the long run.Reading, writing, and speaking are among the most important skills any person can have. For example, I know a guy who has a hard time speaking English fluently - but he's really good at reading and writing. And when it comes to reading, he is at a disadvantage. Not, because he's old, or anything like that. But it's simply not his natural speaking voice that's preventing him from reading well.Well, that little thing is one of the main reasons he might not be as good at this as a kid who grew up speaking the language would be. It's just that the phonics in English didn't come with the language when he was born. If it came later, his mouth is wired differentl y than a younger generation's mouth is wired. And when he looks at English, he's looking at words. While the phonics have been worked out, the letter and spelling systems for the language haven't been - because when the written form was created, it was only done so the foreign languages could write the English language. So while it's easy for him to read, his comprehension level is somewhat limited. I never went to a public school, but I would assume that he'll have some kind of 'learning style' to him - it's almost as if the way he learns is a side effect of being born that way. One of the best ways to teach somebody how to read and write is to take away the other aspects of the learning experience. In other words, show them what they already know and let them figure out for themselves how to move beyond it.Another advantage to hiring a tutor is that they can help you find what you're trying to do and help you put it into words. Again, this is a hard skill to learn and is one of the main reasons people fail. If you teach someone how to turn thoughts into words, and then they don't know what they want to say next, chances are, they won't even finish the thought. When you're teaching somebody how to write, all they have to do is watch you. You don't have to do much of the work - they can sit there and listen, and that's all they need to hear. You can ask them questions, but other than that, you have nothing to do to make them understand what you're saying.Writing isn't hard, but learning how to use the tools that exist to write doesn't come naturally to some people. Most of the time, it doesn't come easy either. This is why it's nice to hire a writing tutor who can work with you, teach you new things, and help you use your writing to get what you want out of it.
